Layout 1: This layout focuses mainly on the image on the cover. This could be an advantage as this may be what attracts the reader to the to the cover however with not much information on the cover it may look to plain and simple, also people may want to know whats inside. For these reasons I chose not to use this layout.
Layout 2: This is similar to layout in the sense that I've kept the the image the main focus of the cover, however I moved the bar code and pug around to fit more with conventions, also to experiment to see which looks best. I again feel this layout would be too simple and wouldn't attract the eye of the audience.
Layout 3: I think this is the best layout out of the 3, this is because the bar code/date/issue number are in a place where it fits with conventions also the two tone colour scheme will make the cover look more interesting and will also frame the image, however it may look better if the colours were blended rather than block colours.
